Seil Kim began his musical training at the Seoul Arts High School, and then continued his studies in Europe.

He took his diploma at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome, the concert diploma at the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève and completed his studies at the Musikhochschule in Zürich, from which he graduated with a soliste diploma. From 2007 to 2008, Seil Kim was a member of the Opera Studio Netherlands. Artistical additional ideas he picked up by Nicolai Gedda, Franco Corelli, Eric Tappy, Virginia Zeani (master class in Barcelona), Nathalie Stutzmann (master class in Geneva), Peter Schreier (master class in Basel), Thomas Quasthoff (master class in Verbier) and Elly Ameling (master class in Amsterdam). Seil Kim has won numerous awards, including Second Prize in the Maria Callas Competition in Athens, and twice won the Swiss Migros Prize for the best young singers. Theaters and concert experience gained Seil Kim among others as Orphée La descente d’Orphée aux enfers (Charpentier), the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, as an evangelist in the St. Matthew Passion (Bach) in Zürich and as Ernesto Don Pasquale (Donizetti) at the Theater Bielefeld. 2009 Seil Kim also appeared in the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, in the Vienna Musikverein and at the Händel Festival in Lucerne.
